CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT
(CNA)

A Certiļ¬ed Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays an important role in patient care by supporting medical staff to administer quality care to patients. CNAs often have the most contact with patients and their families. CNAs are responsible for helping the patient maintain proper hygiene and food intake.

Job Duties

  • Assist with patient care based on individual patient needs under direct supervision of a licensed nurse
  • Monitor patient vitals and behavior. Report them when necessary
  • Turn or adjust patients in bed to prevent bedsores or other discomfort
  • Form and maintain one-on-one contact with patients and their families with a compassionate and caring attitude

Education/Licensure Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current BLS training required (can be obtained at PMC)
  • Current Kentucky State CNA certiļ¬cation required
