About Our Nursing Fellowship

Pikeville Medical Center Staff Testimonials

Christopher | RN

“I love being able to help people and see them through from their admission to the time of discharge. Being a nurse, you connect with patients on another level that you don’t get with other jobs. PMC is committed to its employees and patients, creating a win-win situation for everyone.”

Janet | CNA

“I like my job because PMC encourages teamwork. They help us care for our patients by giving us the equipment we need. I love being able to care for my patients and help them whenever their loved ones and family aren’t able to be with them.”

Dale | ED/Transfer Director

“After serving many years as a police officer, I decided to follow my heart into the nursing field. Both careers allow me to serve others, but being an RN in the Pikeville Medical Center Emergency Department gives me the opportunity to treat patients every day who are experiencing perhaps the worst day of their lives. My nursing career in the PMC ED began in 2012 and I was able to thrive in the unpredictable atmosphere that exists in emergency medicine. In 2017, I was promoted to Director of the PMC Emergency Department, where I am responsible for daily operations and the care of the patients who are brought through our doors.

I am extremely blessed to work alongside some of the most talented and dedicated medical professionals in our region. The leadership at PMC provides an atmosphere that encourages communication and teamwork and always makes sure we have the necessary equipment to take care of our patients. If you are interested in being a nurse in emergency medicine, PMC is a great place to work.”

Nicole | AVP of Patient Services

“I started my nursing career at Pikeville Medical Center in 2011 after receiving my Associate’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Pikeville. In the beginning, I worked nights on the Cardiothoracic Vascular Unit as a staff RN but was promoted to shift supervisor a year later. In 2015, I became director of the Cardiac Unit and Centralized Telemetry and in 2017 I obtained my BSN in Nursing. I truly believe in working hard and always trying to better myself, both personally and in my career.

For me, Pikeville Medical Center has been such a great place to work. Throughout the hospital, the administrative team makes sure the staff has the equipment they need to provide the best care possible to our patients. I was promoted to my current position of Assistant Vice President of Patient Services in 2018 where I now oversee Med/Surg, Pediatrics, Ortho/Neuro, Surgical and the Stroke Program. I am thankful for those who have helped me throughout my career, and I am blessed to now have the opportunity to help make PMC an even better place for current and future nurses.”

Amber | AVP of Patient Services

“My career at Pikeville Medical Center began in 2002 as a staff RN in the Inpatient Oncology Unit, which has become my passion. I worked my way to shift supervisor, manager and then became the Director of the Oncology Unit in 2012. In 2016, I was promoted to AVP of Patient Services, which allowed me to become involved in multiple departments and enabled me to help more people than ever before.

I am so blessed to be where I am today. Working at PMC has given me a place I can call home, and I am surrounded by so many wonderful people. The atmosphere at PMC is amazing and allows you truly make a difference in people’s lives. For me, the most rewarding part of my job is the fact that I am given the opportunity to comfort and care for so many patients and their families. Throughout my career, I have never lost touch with the deep desire to help others which led me to be a nurse many years ago. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to help our patients and their families every day at PMC.”
