When deciding about your career, there are a lot of factors that come into play. One of those being employer benefits. Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) boasts that they have some of the best benefits in the state but what makes them the best? Let’s look at PMC’s employer-paid benefits and how they stand out from the crowd.

Medical Benefits

Employees who work 30 hours a week or more are eligible for PMC’s medical benefits coverage.  So you don’t see a lapse in your coverage. All PMC benefits are effective on the first of the month following your hire date. PMC has various options for you to choose from, whether you’re single or want to insure your entire family. Your children can be on your medical plan up until they turn 26 years old.

With PMC’s medical benefits, you can see any doctor at PMC with only a copay of $10.00! This includes a family practice visit, specialist appointments, any tests you need, and even giving birth. While if you see a doctor outside of PMC but are still in-network, your deductibles for the year will be only $1000 for single coverage and $3000 for family coverage, PMC ensures that our employees are well covered.

PMC has also adopted an IRS-sponsored Section 125 Plan that allows premiums for medical insurance to be deducted from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis. That means more money on your paycheck for you after your premiums are deducted!

Dental Benefits

Looking for dental benefits? Don’t worry. PMC has you covered at no cost for you for single coverage and only $15.80/month to cover your entire family!  Your Delta Dental Plan allows you access to two dental network options that are both considered In-Network: the PPO Network and the Premier Network. PPO and Premier Network providers agree to contracted amounts for their services, which prevents the provider from balance billing you for any amount that Delta Dental discounts. You’ll get all your preventative procedures, like teeth cleanings, paid for 100%. And your deductible for the year is $50 for single coverage and $150 for your family.

Don’t worry. Our dental coverage also includes orthodontic work as well. With coverage of 50% after your deductible! Those braces for your kids seem a little more in reach now.

Payroll Deduction

With the fantastic employer-paid benefits that PMC offers, we still want to help you easily pay for whatever you’re looking for. PMC offers our employees payroll deductions for a variety of different things within the hospital, from eating at the PMC restaurant, prescriptions at the PMC Pharmacy, to plastic/reconstructive surgery at PMC. All you have to do is swipe your employee badge, and that money can be taken off your paycheck. No need to carry your wallet around with you while you’re working to grab a cup of coffee from Starbucks, and no need to dig through your bag for your wallet when you drive through the outpatient pharmacy.

While these are only the employer-paid benefits Pikeville Medical Center offers, there is still so much more of the benefits package to explore. Don’t worry. We’re just dipping your toes in with this post. We’ll dive deeper into the rest of the PMC benefits package in our next benefits post.
